Bali Global
Research & Education / Symposium
Invited as a speaker at the Bali–Global Axis Arts & Design Leaders Summit, hosted by the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Denpasar, where I presented my recent project Modern Mythos, expanding on a series of workshops held across Sri Lanka and Bali, exploring how Southeast Asian craft practices and AI can coexist as partners in heritage preservation. I shared how students in the workshop co-create AI “digital twins” of ritual masks, transforming sovereign stories into generative AI, bridging data with devotion.
The summit strengthened regional ties across the network. As part of the Asia-Pacific Axis of Arts and Design Higher Education, I was honoured to sign the B-GAAD Declaration Caksu–Bhuwana–Citta alongside design education leaders from Indonesia, Australia, and Malaysia. The declaration outlines a shared vision built upon the “Panca Mahadharma” five noble missions grounded in creativity, community, and collective stewardship.
