Come To The Virgin Forest!

Art & Design / Online Publication

A digital pavilion for the Wrong Biennale, reimagining early twentieth-century Brazilian modernism, a period defined by its creative independence and cultural uncertainty. Pra Mata Virgem! (Come To The Virgin Forest!) takes its name from this moment and embodies a call to clear new ground, to confront the contradictions of a culture in flux while reclaiming its own voice.

Developed as a curated online environment, the project reflects on Brazil’s ongoing negotiation between marginality and expression. It acknowledges a lineage of artistic experimentation that oscillates between extremes, the veracity of progress and the meditativeness of natural stillness, in an attempt to comprehend and intervene in the accelerated flow of contemporary AI visual culture.

In a world obsessed with output, Pra Mata Virgem! becomes an act of quiet rebellion. A digital clearing that invites viewers to pause rather than consume, to stand still and wait, proving that sometimes, the most radical form of cultural resistance is to simply look backwards and not move forward at all.
